Russia is the largest country in the world on the scale of the area. The country covers more than 12 percent of the Earth’s occupied area. Russia comes in the Ninth position of the populated areas of the world. It is officially known as Russian Federation and lies in Eurasia continent. Eurasia is a combined word for the continent Europe and Asia as Russia shares its land with both the continents, however, maximum of its area is in Northern Asia. The western European part of Russia is much more populated and urbanized than the eastern; about 77% of the population live in European Russia. Russia's capital Moscow is one of the largest cities in the world.
